A Celebration of Education

McPherson County

All Schools Day

The 102nd annual All Schools Day celebration was held in McPherson, Kansas, May 1 - 9, 2015. Our theme this year was
#ASD2015: Bringing Friends Together.

All Schools Day was started in 1914 as a way to celebrate the graduation of McPherson County eighth graders. Education has always been an important event in McPherson County, and a special day was set aside annually that now honors graduates from eighth grade, high school and college.

All Schools Day highlights include a week-long carnival, two nights of May Fete (Wednesday and Thursday), the Parade which began at 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning, the Madathon on Friday afternoon, and many other activities for kids of all ages. Check back often as we update the website with information on all of the ASD events.

Since 1987, the All Schools Day Button has been a big part of our tradition. Designs are submitted by area residents, from which the winning design is chosen. To see our entire button collection, check out our Button Collection page.
